Report problems in the NWC (for NWC residents only)

NWC Problem Report Form

If you have problems with something in your offices or work space, place a report using the NWC problem report form. Reports are sent to the Facility Management staff where the situation is evaluated and appropriate action taken to get the issue resolved. In the event of more urgent/emergency situations, contact the Facility Management staff immediately by phone (325-3095) or a personal visit to NWC Room 4600 or NWC Room 1100. If you are unable to contact one of us for a maintenance emergency, contact the Community Service Officer (CSO) personnel located at the 1st floor entry or call them at 325-1157.

Phone Problems

Phone problems should be reported to OU IT by emailing them at needhelp@ou.edu or phoning 325-HELP.

IT Support (including audio visual)

NWC residents who are affiliated with OU and need technical computing support may contact the College's Research Computing Services. RCS provides technology services to the National Weather Center, College of A&GS and other organizations on the University of Oklahoma Research Campus.

NWC residents who are affiliated with NOAA and need technical computing support may contact their area administrator or Will Agent at 325-6084.

NWC Building or Office Access

OU tenants should work through their unit administrator who assigns building access and office space. The unit must contact the NWC Facility Management office. You will be informed if you need to supply your identification card for programming (cards are programmed in NWC Room 4600).

NOAA tenants should work through their unit administrator who assigns building access and office space. They will direct you of further steps to be taken to get your access.

NWC Building Emergency Procedures

In the event of a building wide emergency or the need to relay information of an urgent nature, an announcement will be given over the public address (PA) system and/or the phone network by the on-site Community Service Officers (CSO). Please listen carefully to the information provided and respond to directions as given. The PA system is tested every Friday at 6am, 12pm, and 6pm. The emergency phone system is tested the first Friday of every month at 6am, 12pm, and 6pm. You will hear the message that it is only a test and if it was an actual emergency you would be given further instructions. If you are unable to hear either of these messages, contact Tanya Guthrie, NWC Facility Manager.

The NWC Management Office conducts drills to practice a response to tornados, fire, and/or other emergencies three or four times a year. Building residents (and students) should check with their individual office administrative staff for specific information on how to proceed and/or where to go during a specific emergency. Many individual offices have detailed emergency response plans specific to their areas.
